Subscriptions And Payments

All payments are processed through Stripe so that your full credit or debit card details are not stored on our website or databases. You can learn more about Stripe here: https://stripe.com/gb

As payments are processed on Stripe’s servers not our own, no responsibility for any loss or damage sustained by an individual or business for making a payment through this website with credit card or debit card payments can be provided. Stripe is classed as an excellent payment provider so using their servers for processing payments improves the security of payments and any credit or debit card details stored. We do not store your full credit or debit card details on this website or in our databases to make payments as secure as possible.

In the unlikely event of a payment error, technical error or unauthorised access to any of the payment systems / platforms required for processing payments that results in additional payments being taken from your credit / debit card or for a greater amount being taken there will be no liability or compensation from DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk but any additional charges or greater amounts of money that are taken from your debit or credit card in error and collected by our Stripe account or bank account will be refunded.

Renewal Policy

All paid subscriptions come with an automatic monthly renewal policy. By purchasing / ordering one of our packages you hereby give your full permission to process a payment each month using your credit or debit card. Please make sure that there are sufficient funds in your account on the day that a payment is to be collected. If you wish to cancel future payments from your credit or debit card you can cancel your subscription through your account / login area on this website (Lawstar.co.uk).


Refunds will only be provided if requested within 24 hours of placing an order or within 24 hours of your subscription being renewed.


Subscriptions can be cancelled through your account login area on this website. No refunds will be provided as part of a cancellation but you will not be charged for the following month if you cancel before your monthly payment date.

Approval Of Law Firms & Subscriptions

DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk reserves the right to refuse any Subscriptions or accounts. Subscriptions or accounts will usually be rejected if the office location is not a genuine UK office or if we are not able to find accurate or consistent references to the address and contact details associated with a firm when performing our checks. Subscriptions and accounts will also be rejected if your business is not a UK based law firm.


You can purchase an upgrade through your login area / account on this website.

Downgrades To Subscriptions

You can downgrade your subscription through your login area / account on this website. No refunds will be provided for downgrades but you will not be charged for the higher plan / more expensive package that you no longer require for the following month if you downgrade before your monthly payment date.

Account Termination

DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk reserves the right to delete user accounts on this website including any associated data with the account if an account has no reviews related to it and has not been logged in to for more than 12 months. This is to remove accounts with zero reviews that are not being used.

DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk also reserves the right to cancel any subscriptions or remove any user accounts from this website.

No liability or compensation will be provided by DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk for any loss or damage sustained as a result of your account on this website with its associated data being removed.


All individuals and firms that request an account / use an account on lawstar.co.uk are to understand and accept that reviews submitted through our platform / website can be shown anywhere on this website as well as being shown across our network of websites as well as on any of our social media accounts. It is also to be understood and accepted that search engines and other websites will show our star ratings and reviews and that reviews can also be shared across social media accounts by anybody due to the nature of sharing something via social media.

Reviews cannot be exported to another platform should you want to try and move the reviews to another review platform as the reviews have been submitted with an agreement by the individual / reviewer that they are providing permission for us to make their review public as part of our terms and conditions. For this reason permission to export your reviews or copy and paste them to another platform is not granted.

DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk reserves the right to refuse any reviews or to edit parts of a review such as to remove individuals names from a review to protect their privacy. We may also edit a review if there is an obvious spelling mistake or grammatical error. We will not edit reviews to change the meaning of the review or to make a review more positive or negative in any way. Edits to reviews are only made to remove errors or offensive words or to protect the privacy of an individual.

All individuals / firms with an account agree and accept that they are willing to receive both positive and negative reviews about their law firm (or the law firm that they represent), including comments provided as part of the reviews and that these reviews will be visible to the general public as well as to other businesses and organisations. If a firm receives negative reviews and has the review status / level of being ‘poor’, ‘bad’ or ‘average’ as an overall score for the firm this is also to be understood and accepted as being part of the platform and in no way will DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk be held liable for any damages to a firms reputation as a result of this; By having an account on lawstar.co.uk you are agreeing to accept that negative reviews could damage the reputation of a firm and that no compensation will be provided for this damage. It is also to be understood and accepted that search engines and other websites will show our star ratings for your firm (or the firm that you represent).

All individuals that submit a review are to understand and be aware that their name, star rating, comments, date of submitted review and selected relevant legal category for the review will be published on this website as well as across our network of websites and on social media platforms. It is also to be understood and accepted that search engines and other websites will show our star ratings which may also include these details. The provided email will not be shared though or shown on our website, network or on social media platforms as the reviewers email is only required so that we can verify the authenticity of a review plus communicate with a reviewer should we need more information to verify a review as being genuine.

All individuals that submit an invoice or documentation to show that they were a client of a particular law firm grant permission for us to look at these documents to check that they are genuine. These documents will not be shared or made public. We will also delete these documents as soon as we possibly can.

Google Reviews

All individuals and firms that use Lawstar.co.uk are to understand that if they have their Google reviews included we will try to include all 4 and 5 star reviews from Google to be included but we have no control over Google’s reviews so we cannot filter out reviews anymore than this or remove individual ones. Should there be an error either with Google or with our own platform in the process of getting and displaying Google’s reviews, DigitalPod (lawstar.co.uk) will not be held liable for any loss or damage to an individual or business in any form as a result of an error or if unwanted data is presented on this website or on your own website if you / your law firm is using one of our website integration plugins / methods.

Using Our Plugin or HTML Code To Display Reviews On Your Own Website

You must only install the WordPress Plugin or add the HTML code to your firms website and no other websites. By installing the wordpress plugin or adding the html code you agree and understand that in no way will we be held responsible for any loss or damage caused as a result of using the plugin or html code. You should only add the html code if you have a reasonable knowledge of html and the coding of websites. Please ask your web developer to add this to help avoid any code errors with your website. If the reviews tab or reviews do not appear correctly please deactivate the plugin or remove our html code and contact us via the support tab in your login area for help.

Limitation of Liability

The maximum liability of DigitalPod under any circumstances shall not exceed the paid amounts relating to any respective order. Customers are to understand and be aware that under no circumstances will DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk be liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages (including, but not limited to, physical harm, loss of profits, business interruption, loss of goodwill and the like) arising out of the use or inability of use of the service / Lawstar.co.uk website.

If Lawstar Was To Close

In the unlikely event that we had to close the lawstar.co.uk website and the review platform you understand and agree that we will not be liable for any loss or damage sustained by yourself or your firm as a result of this. We do not intend to close the service but this has been added in the unlikely event of this happening. Should this happen we would also do our best to export the reviews and provide them to each firm so that they still have their reviews or we will leave the reviews live but just close the ability to add additional reviews and remove the plugin / html support to display reviews on firm’s websites. This is not the intended fate of lawstar.co.uk but just a legal notice as we have been advised to add this.

Access To Clients’ Accounts

In certain situations clients may provide account details to DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk so that we may access a domain name, website, server or hosting account. This information will be treated as confidential. Clients should change any passwords provided to us once we have accessed an account for them so as to keep the account as secure as possible.

DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk will not be held responsible for any loss or damage sustained by the client as a result of DigitalPod accessing a client’s account as part of the service provided by DigitalPod / Lawstar.co.uk.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
